How to see your YouTube stats

Quick answer

YouTube doesn’t offer detailed stats about your viewing habits. There’s a companion tool for YouTube, TubeWrapped, that lets you track your activity in detail: time spent, videos watched, favorite creators and much more, with daily, weekly, monthly and yearly stats. To use it, install the extension for free on a desktop browser (Chrome, Edge, Brave or Opera).

Example YouTube Wrapped

Why doesn’t YouTube show your stats?

YouTube doesn’t show you any stats about what you watch. Your history does list the videos you opened, but without any totals: no watch time, no video count, no ranking of your channels.

TubeWrapped does what YouTube doesn’t: it counts everything you watch and turns it into clear stats, updated automatically.

The stats you can see

With TubeWrapped, all these stats are gathered in a clear dashboard, for the period of your choice:

  • Watch timeYour total hours on YouTube and your daily average, ads excluded.
  • Videos watchedThe videos you actually watched, not the ones you just opened.
  • Favorite creatorsYour top channels, ranked by time spent or by number of videos.
  • Viewing hoursThe times of day when you’re on YouTube the most.
  • Day-by-day activityA chart and a heatmap to spot your peaks and breaks.
  • RecordsYour longest streak of consecutive days and your busiest day.
  • Viewer profileNight owl, binge-watcher, channel surfer… what defines you.
  • And much more…Your Shorts, your month-by-month evolution and other surprises to discover.

Every number is compared with the previous period: you instantly see whether you watched more or less than the month or week before.

Day, week, month or year

Pick the period in one click: a specific week, a month or the whole year. You can also show or hide Shorts to see how much of what you watch they make up.

Share and compare your Wrapped with friends

TubeWrapped is also a small social network around YouTube: pick a username, add your friends and see what they watch.

  • Add friends by searching for their username.
  • Compare your stats: watch time, videos watched, favorite creators.
  • Share your Wrapped as a single image on social media.
  • Public or private account: you decide who sees your stats.

How to see your YouTube stats with TubeWrapped

TubeWrapped is a browser extension. Once installed, it uses what you watch on YouTube to calculate your Wrapped. There’s nothing to export or set up: three steps are enough.

What happens next?

Nothing else to do. Keep watching YouTube as usual and your stats update on their own: the extension syncs automatically every two hours. Switch between the Year and Month views to follow how your habits change.
